I have a Cancer MC too and counselling and psychology was a theme in my family also - my parents got heavily involved in Transactional Analysis in the '70s and my father published some articles on it. Looking forward to reading more of your insights...

To respond to your question about astro themes in families...

Both my parents have Cancer rising & I have a Cancer MC with moon/Uranus in Cancer in the 10th. I feel like I was raised in a nurturing but sometimes slightly suffocating environment - my mom also had a Cancer moon conjunct her ascendant. The good side was that I learned a lot about counseling, therapy, psychology, on a sort of instinctive level, & I use this in my work.

My dad was somewhat more dispassionate, with a sun/moon conjunction in Libra. My ascendant is in Libra conjunct his sun/moon. So I also feel that I learned/inherited his idealism and sense of justice. Although I think he enacts it more fully than I ever will.

Jenny Jenny Yateshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09959254758613050496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-896534929440389555.post-78874915216628297922013-06-01T00:35:49.787+01:002013-06-01T00:35:49.787+01:00that was quite timely, even if i am a bit late to ...that was quite timely, even if i am a bit late to it. thank you, that helped.R.A. It's as if in your sleep you connect to the whole of poetry, or its archetypal realm, and in the waking world you are confined by other laws and have to then limit the expression, define it somehow, which is Saturn.

It's a bit like the word has to become flesh, and in doing so is bound. (but not.) last night/this morning, as i lay half-asleep, i became acutely aware of a conversation i was involved in, with myself. but with another. hard to describe. hard to define. there was wisdom to the words i was both speaking (to myself?) but it was clear they were not from me. i thought, "i need to wake up and write this down" but it felt that to do so would break the "spell." there was the strong sense of channeling something, of simply being a conduit. the advice i was getting - and i do recall that some of what i was hearing was advice - was extremely clear and there was a particular kind of intelligence to it that i could not, would not claim as my own. yet it came in the form of my half-dream, half-awake state.

i recall many years ago of receiving poems - epic poems - and wanting so badly to somehow wake and write them down, but they were too much, like large fish - a whale - one has on the line, but that's where it would stay, on the line, not to be reeled in as much to wrestle with, to perhaps only know the experience of such deep-sea fishing.

- saturn cap square mercury libra.

a bit away from the kernel of your post, christine, but, i think, related.

it is easier to comprehend the utility of language than it is to truly appreciate the beauty, the potential for soul-shifting poetry...in the conjoining and dance of "mere" words. Saturn is also associated with solitude, that sort of crucible. In the Mythic Tarot, he's the Hermit.

I like your Mercury in Aquarius, recognise it, that ability to think through from 1st principles in your own way - makes for interesting thoughts, like you haven't read them somewhere else before. I have Merc in Aq exactly opposite Uranus. You have inconjunct Uranus?

For me, Saturn in Sag, it's been about what do I have faith in? And moving that from the external authorities of my youth and that sort of disempowerment to I don't know what, something kind of within and without that is my own, that I'll describe differently depending on the day of the week.Barry Goddardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10050835957098177925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-896534929440389555.post-19659294048649617692012-09-23T10:30:37.808+01:002012-09-23T10:30:37.808+01:00I have transiting Neptune conjunct Mars, square Mo...I have transiting Neptune conjunct Mars, square Moon/Venus/Nodes, trine Uranus/ascendant.
